In 2004 at the young age of 16, Torstein raised industry eyebrows by winning the Burton European Open Junior Jam followed by the Air & Style Rookie Challenge in 2005. He had a very unfortunate injury in late 2006 leaving him with a cracked spine and out for the rest of the year. The Norwegian came back with a vengeance in 2007 & 2008 where he landed on the podium at the major events including the Nokia Air & Style and snatching a Gold Medal in X Games Big Air. In the same year Torstein brought home the coveted final part in 2 movies including Standard Films’ “Aesthetica” with the now famous "Park Run" and Park City’s “I Ride Park City”. 2009 was Torstein’s best year to date with 2 Dew Tour Slopestyle wins, 1st at Nissan X Trail Big Air, 2nd at Red Bull Snow Scrapers, 2nd at the Wiig Invitational and 2nd at the X Games Big Air, thus being promoted to the DC pro team. When Torstein isn't traveling the world snowboarding he can be found at chilling in Oslo in his new apartment or out skating with his friends.
